Huaming Power Equipment Opens International Headquarters in Singapore to leverage opportunities in the energy transition
Singapore, April 29, 2025 – Huaming Power Equipment Co., Ltd., a world-leading maker of tap changers for power transformers today announced that it has opened its international headquarters in Singapore as it expands and strengthens its global operations to bring innovative and sustainable energy solutions to help customers navigate the energy transition.
Huaming Power Equipment Singapore Pte. Ltd. will also serve as Huaming Power Equipment’s global training and knowledge centre, building on the company’s cutting- edge expertise in tap changers that control transformers’ stable and safe power output in electrical networks.

Tap changers are crucial components of electricity systems as they regulate the voltage levels in transformers when they are in use, essential for maintaining a steady voltage supply, maximizing energy efficiency and strengthening grid resilience.
The increased focus on renewable energy sources such as solar and wind and their integration into the power grid has necessitated advanced tap changers that ensure reliable regulation and network stability as production of such energy can often be variable.
In addition, the global trend of transitioning to smart grids to improve energy efficiency is also contributing to the growth in the tap changer industry, amid the International Energy Agency’s forecast of global electricity consumption to rise close to 4% annually through 2027 forecast.
In the past decade, Huaming Power Equipment Co., Ltd. has invested in over 600 megawatts of photovoltaic power projects, and collaborated with partners to develop and adopt the use of new materials to significantly reduce carbon emissions. The Shanghai-based company aims to use 100% recyclable materials in all products within the next five years.
